The special coating boasts about three times the scratch resistance and twice the water repellency of regular lenses*, and is a popular coating that has excellent waterproofness that makes it easy to wipe away moisture, fingerprints, and other dirt, and has sold more than 4.7 million copies in total.

The "Premium Hard Coat" is equipped with a UV 360° protection function that blocks approximately 99% of ultraviolet rays and 95% of ultraviolet rays on the back of the lens.
