From Tuesday, July 14, 2026 ~ Monday, September 14, 2026, we will hold guidebooks and hands-on programs to help children gain a deeper understanding of living things as part of their independent research projects.
The "SUMIDA AQUARIUM Living Creatures BOOK ~There's a Hidden Side!~" distributed inside the facility is a guidebook that introduces the appearances and characteristics of living creatures, as well as the surprising ecology and body mechanisms they cannot imagine from their appearance, as the "front and back" of living creatures. By reading the guidebook and observing the six species living in our facility, you can not only discover their friendly side but also discover their surprisingly surprising ecology. Please discover new charms in living creatures that you may not have noticed before.
In addition, we will hold three paid workshops that help you feel more connected to living things. Focusing on jellyfish, fur seals, and goldfish, participants learn about the characteristics of living creatures together with their staff, while experiencing the mechanisms of their ecology and unique traits—things that are hard to notice through observation—deepening your understanding while having fun.
